Living Love Church was founded by Pastors Ed and Gloria King. In 1965 they were sent by the United States government to Bolivia to work in a community development initiative in partnership with local churches to assist with the agricultural crisis being experienced by the indigenous population of the highlands of Bolivia. Subsequently, Pastor Ed King served in the literacy program ALFALIT and was named director of the Honduran branch prompting a move to that country. It was during his service there that Pastor King received a calling from the Lord to enter the pastorate and reach the youth of Honduras. A great revival took place and Living Love Church was founded. Ed and Gloria King were traditional Mennonites but through their friendship with a fellow pastor, they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As Living Love grew, the Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions discerned that this was a special move of God and gave them the freedom to establish the church as an independent work with their full support. Living Love Church has established fifty-five churches in Honduras and in many other countries around the world such as El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Chile, Spain, and the United States. It has established its own bylaws and conferences and continues to church plant worldwide. Living Love Church of Peoria, Illinois was the last local church founded by Pastor Ed King before his passing.
